My phone does not work. I can not turn it on or charge it. I did make calls this month. I tried to call regarding this, and only got recordings that were not responding to the number prompts and then after 25 minutes, it said to enter 555. But I can not turn it on. My phone number is xxxxxxxxx.
My enrollment ID is xxxxxxx. Please help. Is there a phone number that I can call and talk to a real person and get some help?

My safelink track phone number is xxxxxxxxxxx. I enrolled for plan 2 (125 Minutes w/carry over time) and I wish to remain with this plan. However on November 1, 2013 they added 250 minutes and I have not been able to reach a person (ONLY MACHINES). How do I correct this error.

Either E-mail me or call my Land line number xxxxxx.

  6. j wondering June 5, 2014 at 2:09 pm #

I have had one, am disabled on foodstamps, on a limited income and wonder am i elegabe for when i get a replacement for this old phone that has atcually outlived its use suprizingly, normally i end up with a new one every 2 yrs this one is more like 3 and 1/2 yrs used and carefully cared for… would i be able to take advantage of the 500 for 3 months before returning to the no roll over plan they offer of 250 min. and are these 500 min roll over or expering each moth when min get recharged?

    • Admin June 10, 2014 at 5:20 am #

      Hello J. Wondering,
I believe the 500 minute special is for new customers. If you are a new customer you would qualify for the bonus time.

  7. BBoop June 14, 2014 at 12:48 am #

Yes, I have been seeing the new ads for safe-link and I think the new customers are getting a screaming deal. 1000 texts would certainly help my 250 min plan…which does not roll over to the next month.. But the 500 minutes really torqued my jaw. I don’t know if that is just the introductory deal or forever. I do know it would not hurt my feelings in the least if Safelink gave me an upgrade or lets call it an appreciation gift for long time service customers that included 500 minutes a month, I don’s care if they wouldn.t roll over to the next month, or 1000 texts a month that didn’t deduct from my minutes.

    • Admin June 18, 2014 at 5:19 pm #

      Hello BBoop,
I know exactly how you feel! If it is any conciliation, the 500 min/month deal is a limited to the first three months of a new customer’s service plan and expires September 14, 2014. We wrote more about this offer here. I think now would be a great time to refer friends to Safelink’s program and take advantage of their refer a friend system (so, both you and your referred friends can benefit).

      Best of luck,
      Admin

I have applied for dissability and waiting for answer on food stamps.i am currently not working and have 0 income,so I was wondering if I qualify for the free cell phone program?

    • Admin July 8, 2014 at 4:38 pm #

      Hello Chris,
Thanks for leaving us a message. Once you have been approved for disability or Food Stamps you will qualify for Safelink Wireless service (assuming that no one else in your household currently uses phone service subsidized by the Lifeline Assistance program and you are applying from a residential address). And depending what state you currently reside in, you could qualify under income eligibility criteria (assuming that it is offered in your state residence). If you can qualify for Safelink Wireless service under income eligibility criteria, you may be able to apply right away. Please check out your state’s application requirements on this website or visit Safelink Wireless to see if you qualify.

It would appear that you are from Texas. If that is the case, please visit our Texas eligibility page here: http://www.fasts.org/by-state/texas-government-cell-phone-providers/

If you are from the Texas, we have some good news for you: Not only is income eligibility available in Texas, but you can choose from several carriers. At the moment, Safelink Wireless offers the most generous plan.

      Best of luck,

I just recieved my phone, I can recieve and make calls but text will not work? What should I do return the phone and wait for a different one? Am I missing a step when I am activing my phone? Anyone having the same problems?

    • Admin August 3, 2014 at 1:52 pm #

      Dear Diane,
I am sorry to hear about the problems you are experiencing with your phone. To the best of my knowledge, I am not aware of any additional steps that need to be taken in order to send and receive text messages. Your best bet is to contact Safelink Wireless technical support and inquire into any special activation steps required or steps needed to exchange your cell phone.

You can call technical support by calling: 1-800-378-1684 or by their electronic messaging system here: http://www.tracfone.com/contact.jsp?task=contact

I was shopping in Wal-Mart and this guy at a booth asked if I would like a free cell phone and I said sure why not? So I gsve him the information needed to get a phone and my baby started crying because I was on the way to get water for her bottle, he told me I could get it and come right back and my phone would be ready so I did and when I got back it was all done except the phone was dead all he told me was when I got home to charge it then I use right away he alao gave me one of theie flyer with an enrollment id # and an 800# on it and said if I wanted a better phone to call the number and ask for a upgrade. So once I got it all charged up I tried to make a call n it wouldnt work and I thought it was the reception so I went by the window and tried again but I got nothing… I then realized that there was NO SIM card in the phone tried to call the number but no luck so what do I do now? I wanna kno what happens with my information if I dont have a sim card and if i am enrolled in this program for real how do I go about getting my phone a sim card??? This is way BOGUS!!!

Bear in mind with this comment that we followed all the rules for applying for Safelink service. We are live at an an address with multuiple separate and distinct economic households. My family had to walk away from Safelink wireless. First, they never did send my son his phone and had him stuck in only approved status, not enrolled. We finally called them and they told him that he had to wait for another 30 days so they could correct their computer system. Then, my daughter tried to redeem her free minutes. She never got them. All they gave her were her text messages. She called and talked to them with my help–their excuse was that she had already used up her minutes for the month. Excuse us?? How could she use her minutes up when she never got them?? My husband tried to redeem his minutes. He started out with his 500 minutes. Made two phone calls totaling one minute each. Next morning he woke up to zero minutes left. He chatted with Safelink. Their excuse?? The same as what they told our daughter. Mind you, my husband is not a huge talker. 250 minutes is all he needs for a month. 500 is double what he needs. To say that he went through 500 minutes in less than 24 hours is so absurd it is ridiculous! My son finally cancelled his service with Safelinik becuase they were taking too long to send him his phone. My daughter ended her service with them to go to a prepaid service that she pays for out of her own pocket because of her disability and the long fight she was having with them. Now my husband is the next one to go. He doesn’t have the patience to fight with them. Way to go with keeping your customers, Safelink. And way to go helping people who are low income get and keep phone service. What a joke. We are still going to have to pay $30 a month out of our own pocket to have reliable service because none of the lifeline companies out there are worth anything. I have checked the alternatives to Safelink and they either don’t offer enough of what we need or they operate off Sprint and we don’t have good Sprint coverage in our area. Safelink was the best for cell service, but when they steal your minutes or they don’t send you your phone, then you still have no service and you are forced to pay for service. There is one cell phone company out there that is not associated with Lifeline but has extremely affordable rates and we are going to that company. At least we will be treated with respect!

Do we have a choice of a touch screen

    • Admin January 14, 2016 at 12:30 pm #

      Dear Ed,
Safelink Wireless does not offer touch screen cell phones. However, Reachout Wireless offer paid upgrade cell phones with their service. Some of the upgrade cell phones offer touch screens.

      Have a great day,

I don’t have the other phone because I cant have two of them so I gave it away. now I have no phone and cant afford minutes to put on it to make doctors appointments. what can I do?

THIS PROGRAM IS SUCH A PIA. I’VE HAD IT FOR ABOUT A YEAR FIRST WITH ASSURANCE AND THE SERVICE BUT ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SO I TRANSFERRED TO SAFELINK AND EVERY WEEK FOR THE PAST 3 MONTHS I HAVE NO SERVICE, SEND EMAILS NEVER GET AN ANSWER AND SOMEONE ELSE ALSO HAS MY NUMBER ACCORDING TO A STORE THAT asks FOR MY NUMBER TO PULL UP MY STORE ACCOUNT AND A MANS NAME AND ADDRESS CAME UP BUT NOT MINE. I’VE NOW BEEN WITHOUT SERVICE FOR A WEEK AND A HALF. I’M THROUGH WITH THIS BULL SHIT AND I WILL JUST GET A VERY LOW-COST PLAN WITH CONSUMER CELLULAR

I am not happy with safelink at all, my phone has been messed up since before Christmas, it is now January the 9 and I have talked to a lot of people at safelink about getting my phone up and working again. I have been put on hold and my call dropped, I get back on the phone and have to talk to a different person and have to answer the same question over and over again. Have tried to tell them that I need a new phone that something is wrong with mine, they sent me a new sims card and still that doesn’t work. How long do I have to keep going around and around in circles trying to get this phone up and working. The message that keeps coming up is “out of airtime”. Well I am out of patience. I would love to tell you what you can do with your safelink phone. very unsatisfied.

  43. Chad b. April 8, 2018 at 6:03 pm #

Why is it that other lifeline government phone companies give nice smart phones and have a camara built in but you at safe link only give phones that are like the old basic talk and text type phones. Why can’t you as a company use and give the same type of phones as the other companies?
